The fluctuation of income rise and fall can play a great disparity causing people to seek different ways to create multiple streams of income. The cost of living in many areas in the United states, if you pay rent is around $4,000 a month, that doesn’t include utilities, and recurring expense, like auto insurance, cell phone bills, and other living expense. Making it impossible to sustain a decent living.
The easier ways to make multiple streams of income is to create a side business or sometimes your side business is your full time job. If you are someone who comes from a technical background your options are to do affiliate marketing, website design and technical support, work in retail, a fast food chain or become a delivery driver. These options are what helps us in the creation of bringing in more income.
First, let’s discuss how the cost of living is interconnected with Corporate Social Responsibilities, and understanding what the 3 pillars of Sustainability are. By far, this does not exclude non-profit organizations or government agencies, as they are a corporation as well, and can contribute to any of these 3 pillars of sustainability. As many government sectors and non-profit organizations set the standards for living and even the cost of products and services. I will give you an example of these companies that set the standards; are a government agency, and non-profit organization. One of these companies is a non-profit that set standards and is the Federal Reserve.
The 3 pillars of Corporate Social Responsibilities are:
1) Environmental Sustainability
2) Social Sustainability
3) Economic Sustainability
These are areas that reflects in our daily lives to bring about the understanding of what it means to be sustainable in our ecosystem, especially, when it comes to the average income cost.
When we say Sustainability what do you think of?
Most times, people would think of sustainability as just being eco-friendly. However, it is a contribution to our ecosystem as a whole, but, the most important part to all this is a balance ecosystem. Not just in the animal kingdom or our environment where the elements reside but it also relates to our daily lives as humans and as the highest species upon this world.
Let’s start out by defining these terms:
Environmental Sustainability, is the responsibility of conserving natural resources and protecting the global ecosystem to supporting health and wellbeing.
Social Sustainability, relates to identifying and managing business impact both positive and negative on people.
Economic Sustainability, is referred to as the practice that support long-term growth without negatively impacting the social environment and cultural aspect of the community.
Let’s get into this a little more in details on how sustainability impact our living expense.
Corporate responsibility is a company or group of people authorized to act as a single entity (legally a person) and recognized as such in law.What this means is, there is a responsibility since corporations are earning income from our ecosystem which then, requires them to pay for services too, since they set the standards for living. To hire more people at a fair hourly income or fair yearly wages.
When companies see the value in sustainability, they can see the negative, and positive impact on the decisions they make and have upon our communities. They can then understand the flow of money, and how it’s important to ensure that money flow through our ecosystem. As well as flow through the delivery of their brands even if they’re a non-profit or for profit organization. That means, that if they require purchasing power from the people to support their brand. Then this means, more sales for them, or more donations or government grants, which then requires them to hire more people to create the balance in the flow of money in our ecosystem.
The cost of living is an environmental contribution. As people are prone to take care of their environment when they are taken care of.
But with new technologies, and changes in our ecosystem we start to see the negative impact that occurs when jobs are lost, and businesses are limited or blocked. This limit growth, and development in our education and with our skills. Making skills become obsolete rather than improving. Because people can’t afford to educate themselves and upgrade their skills.
Most people decide to create a side business to make up for the difference in living expense. One way they do this is promoting products or services. For this kind of skills it doesn’t matter what industry your originated from. And the reason why this is. Is because technology has made it extremely easier to do a lot of things we couldn’t do in the past.
Some of the industry side business that we turn to is promoting products and services. Although for some people who have made a mark for themselves in this industry earlier on in the game of promoting products and services. They have more credibility than some people who are just starting out. And companies trust them to promote their brand. And are more prone to give them the marketing side hustle by sending them free products and services. And most times these people make millions of dollars meanwhile, making it more difficult for others who are in the same field valuable to do the same as they. The standard were not set, and companies ONLY depended on those people.
But companies eventually start to see that using these kind of marketing to promote their brand. Does create a buzz in name recognition, and a spike in sales initially, however, at some point sales will fall. Then the companies are wondering why sales have dropped. When they are sending out their products for free or hiring these business to promote sales.
The reason why this is happening is because, people are not earning enough money to consistently put back into buying their products and services. So eventually they will see a down turn in sales or investments. Because this kind of idea is not sustainable.
You will see that the exchange in money starts with the companies investing in hiring more people at fair wages. By corporations putting back into the system. They earn even more money. That to create stability in the ecosystem requires people to earn a fair hourly wage for work that is being done even if it’s a side business.
When there is a shortage of income to meet the standard of living in your area. People will seek out ways to earn more income. That is when they will look for a business to subsidize for the lost in income. Most times, having a business allow us to create additional income in making up the difference in lost and many people look to this as an end all, be all, way to substitute for the income lost.
For example, one easy way to get a side business is by promoting established brands. By far, this can be a good way to earn extra income however, it become saturated and many times people are working for free to promote a brand. They work for free putting in countless hours. Purchasing their goods; marketing these companies brands for free and don’t earn any money.
The reason, this concept for referral or affiliate marketing business was created was to earn income or to give incentives back to customers on purchases or the marketing business to promote these companies brand, they would earn; that was the initial model.
The reason why this mix up occurred, where we are not earning income for the work we put into promoting goods and services as our business. Is because the people prior to who was using this model in our system, did not grasp the concept, and did not vocalized how they want to earn money in the ecosystem. Which is, they should earn a fair hourly wage or salary for their work. Instead, these people accepted products for free for doing countless hours of work, or they started purchasing these goods or services themselves until the money ran out or they lost their jobs, which, then set the standards of how we are paid for this kind of work. Causing a spiral of people not earning or making little or no money for their work.
For this very reason, people will buy these brand products or invest in this business with little or no return on their investment. And companies start to see a decline in their sales turning downward.
One of the problems we face is people doing this kind of work for free believing that they can make millions or get free products. If someone is depending on a side business to market other people’s brand or let’s say they have a job making less than $30,000 a year on their job. They are going to seek out ways to earn more money to subsidized the missing income to be able to afford the cost of living.
The next problem that we face is. Industry or companies seeking to do business outside of the US or outside of their country. They compare the marketing to a world industry, or a market that does not requires an average monthly rental income of $4,000 a month. And because these other countries requires less for living expenses they start to hire these people and compare us to them.
Well in fact, companies do earn enough money to ensure that they can hire people to do these jobs, at a fair hourly wage according to their cost of living even if it’s a side business.This causes a huge disparity in the industry, and eventually companies wind up seeing a drop in sales after a period of time.
